August 15, 1984, Dr. Kolsun opened the doors to his practice in Silver Spring. Hempfield Family Dental Care grew, from a small single chair office along a closed road and backed up by a cornfield, to his current facility with six chairs and a staff of nine. His philosophy of providing the best possible dental care and treating all of his patients as family and friends, was based on the values learned while achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and is the key to his success.

After 25 years, Dr. Kolsun remains the solo dentist at Hempfield Family Dental Care out of his desire to maintain the integrity of his practice and be responsible for the care of all his patients.
